Protecting the Privacy of Information.

Key Equipment Finance and the KEF family of companies ("KEF") are committed to protecting the privacy of our web site information. This Statement discloses our policies for the collection and use of web site information. Please read it carefully to learn more about our information-protection practices, and to find out about the choices you may have in the way your information is collected and used in certain cases.

If you are comfortable with KEF's Privacy Statement and handling of web site information, you do not need to take any action at this time.

This policy applies to all companies within the KEF family of companies. This Privacy Policy supersedes all previous notices and statements with respect to subject matters described in this policy. Please check back periodically for updates to this Privacy Statement.

Strict Security Measures.
KEF takes the security of information very seriously and has established security standards and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to information. These standards exist for both our physical facilities and our online services. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect information.

What We Collect.

We collect two types of information about our web site visitors: (1) Visitor Data (such as name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc.) which you have voluntarily submitted to us, and (2) Site Data (such as information about how many visitors log on to our sites, the pages they access, etc.). In general, you can visit this web site without telling us who you are or revealing information about yourself, in which case you may however be unable to participate in certain promotions or receive product information. However, if you wish to receive information from us on our products and services we will ask you to provide information which personally identifies you or allows us to contact you. We keep this information on file.

How We Use It.

We collect, maintain and use the information that you have voluntarily submitted in order to contact you, including contacts via e-mail, to respond to your comments or requests for information, products or services. In addition, we may use such information to provide you the most helpful and targeted products and services available to meet your needs or to respond to your inquiries. KEF may send out periodic e-mails informing you of a product or service you have requested or investigated.

We may supplement the information we collect with data for the same purpose which we obtain from third parties or other external sources. In this respect we collect information:

  • From applications and other forms that you provide to us with such information as your name and address for example;
  • From other members of the KEF family of companies with whom you communicate;
  • From credit reporting agencies and other outside sources with such information as your creditworthiness and credit history for example; and
  • From public sources such as government records with such information as title and lien records for example.

The Selective Sharing of Information.

Depending on the type of relationship you have with KEF, we may share information within the KEF family of companies, as well as with unaffiliated third-party business partners external to KEF in order to promote our relationship with you or to carry out the KEF business operations. KEF reserves the right to share all information we collect but only as this policy describes or as disclosed to you when the information is collected.

Without limiting the above, we will disclose information (a) to service providers who do contract work for or within the KEF operations, or (b) to complete transactions initiated by you, or (c) when you request or authorize the disclosure, or (d) if the disclosure is required or allowed by law. At times it is necessary to disclose information to enforce or apply the terms and conditions of an agreement we have with you or to protect the rights, property, or safety of KEF, our customers or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

In addition, KEF will disclose your information, without notice, if KEF in good faith believes that such action is necessary: (a) to conform to the requirements of the law or comply with legal process served on KEF, or (b) to protect or defend the rights or property of KEF or employees or customers, or (c) to protect the personal safety of employees or customers of KEF, its web site users, or the public.

Control of Your Personal Information.

When you register, or otherwise give us information, KEF will not share that information with third parties without your permission, other than for the purposes stated above. Your information will generally be stored in KEF databases, which are located mainly in the United States, Asia Pacific or Europe.

Cookies.

A "cookie" allows KEF to determine that a visit has occurred within our site, as well as which pages were viewed. Cookies may also be used in connection with security measures. Cookies are common on web sites and do not harm your computer. At your option, cookies can be manually removed by you from your computer at any time.

Accuracy & Access.

KEF strives to keep your information accurate. Upon request, we will provide you with access to your information, so that you may advise us to update, correct or delete your information at the KEF site where it was submitted. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting you access.

Opting out.

A. Opting out applies only to personally identifiable information about "individual consumers" in the United States who have obtained or sought out products or services for personal, family or household purposes, or about "individuals" in certain other countries in Europe, Asia/Pacific and America. If you are an "individual consumer" in the United States or an "individual" in certain applicable countries who prefers that KEF not share information about you, you may restrict information sharing (other than those disclosures permitted or required by law). Such an election means you "opt out" of information sharing. The types of information that may be shared and the categories of companies with which it may be shared are those discussed below in this Statement.

Vermont residents who wish to "opt in" should refer to the special provision below.

B. Individual consumers and certain other individuals who choose to opt out of information sharing have two separate options:

1. External Sharing - with unaffiliated third parties. You may elect to opt out of information sharing with unaffiliated third party companies that are not part of the KEF family of companies or that do not support KEF business operations.

2. Internal Sharing - within the KEF family of companies. You also have the right to opt out of information sharing among the KEF family of companies.

Limiting the information that KEF may share will restrict our ability to provide you with the best and most comprehensive products and services.

For More Information or to Opt Out.

If you are an individual consumer in the United States or an individual in certain other countries and would like more information about your rights and options, or wish to opt out of information sharing, please send an e-mail to kef@key.com. If you have previously opted out of internal or external information sharing, please be assured that your election will remain effective. You do not need to contact us unless you wish to change your election.

Vermont Residents - Opting In.

If you are an individual consumer and a resident of Vermont, please send an e-mail to us at kef@key.com to obtain more information about your rights and options.

Children's Privacy.

We take utmost care to protect children's privacy, and take into consideration appropriate national and international laws and regulations on children's privacy.

At the same time we work hard to protect the confidentiality and security of personal information. Thank you for allowing us to provide you with the financial products and services you need.

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each customer who opens an account. Therefore, all new and existing customers are subject to the identity verification requirements.

When a customer opens an account with Key Equipment Finance, we will ask for the customer's name, address and identification number, and in the case of an individual, his or her date of birth. For business accounts, we may also obtain this information for individuals associated with the business. We may also request to see a valid driver's license or other approved identifying documents. In all cases, we are committed to protecting the privacy and identity of each of our customers.
